These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LocalFamily waitlist, app, and website (the "Service"). By joining the waitlist or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of a participating building to use LocalFamily.
LocalFamily is a free tool that helps verified residents of the same building help each other with small favours, such as sharing a spare visitor pass, borrowing and lending everyday items, and recommending trusted services. We provide the platform; we are not a party to any arrangement between residents.
You agree to sign up with accurate information (your real name, email, and building details) and to keep your account secure. We may suspend accounts that use false or misleading information.
You are responsible for what you list and for any exchange you agree to with a neighbour, including the condition and safety of items you share and following your building's rules. Any thank-you or cost-sharing between neighbours is arranged directly between them; LocalFamily does not process payments.
You agree not to use LocalFamily to list or exchange illegal items; harass, threaten, or harm other residents; post false or fraudulent listings; impersonate anyone; or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service.
Because this is an early beta, you may share feedback with us. You give us permission to use that feedback to improve the Service, with no obligation on our part.
LocalFamily is provided "as is," especially during the beta. We do not guarantee the accuracy of listings, the conduct of residents, or the outcome of any exchange, and we are not responsible for items damaged, lost, or stolen between residents.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalFamily is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or from any exchange between residents.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or act in a way that's harmful to other residents. You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@localfamily.app.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
We may update these Terms and will let you know of material changes via email or the app.
